Local Charities Help Out Haitian Relief

SPRINGFIELD — The message was simple: “this morning, our women’s mission team is HOME!”. That was the message on the front page of website of First Christian Church this past Sunday, January 17. The church, on Middle Urbana Road, said on their website that the mission group had just returned from Haiti, a country that was struck by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake last Tuesday, January 12. All six of the local women who were in Haiti as part of the mission group, and who all went through the earthquake, were unharmed and are now safely home.
